Introduction

This is a trivia game in which you are given 2 minutes to answer 20 questions.  Each question is presented in a multiple choice format with 2 to 4 answers from which you must choose the correct one.

Scoring is calculated based on the number of questions correctly answered. The value for each question will go down as the game progresses.  If you finish a game before the 2 minutes expire, a bonus is awarded based on the time remaining on the clock.

Questions are asked on a variety of topics and answers in the question database have all been verified as best as possible.

QuizTime is presented "as is" for your enjoyment.  It has been tested successfully on both Windows and Mac OS X platforms, and on a range of browsers (Internet Explorer, FireFox, Google Chrome, Safari, Maxthon and Opera).  As with any software, it is probably not perfect.  There is no intention of providing maintenance or support, but if you want to comment or report problems you may do so by sending an e-mail here at [ QuizTime ].

 

Playing QuizTime

When the game opens you are presented with the game window (see figure 1). At the top right you see the game clock, in the middle is the game board (showing the start up message to begin with) and in the bottom area you will see buttons to start the game or to exit, with a general message area between them which is used to show short instructions or other information as appropriate.

When you press the [Start] button, the game will initialize and select its questions, then the first question will be presented in the game board section.  At the bottom of the window, the [Start] button will be replaced with information about the number of questions asked so far which will be updated as the game progresses, the middle area will show the running score and the [Exit] button at the right is replace with a [Quit] button.  You can use the [Quit] button during a game to "give up" and end the game at any time (there is a 100 point penalty to your score for doing this).

During a game, the game board (see figure 2) shows The current question and below it there will be from 2 to 4 possible answer choices.  Each answer has a lettered button to its left - to be pressed to indicate which answer you choose for that question.

If your selected answer is correct then your it will be highlighted in green (see figure 3).

If you pick the wrong answer, it will be highlighted in red and the correct answer will show itself in green (see figure 4).

If you succeed in completing the 20 questions in a game before the clock runs out, the game will end and the results window will replace the game board to present your score.  The results window will also appear automatically and stop the game as soon as the clock runs down to zero (or if you press [Quit] during a game).  When the results window appears, the bottom of the main window will show an [Again] button which you can click if you want to play the game again with new puzzles.

 

Cookies

If you allow cookies on your browser, QuizTime will use cookies to keep track of the high score and the most recently asked questions, so that these can be tracked from session to session.  If you do not allow cookies, then the high score will only be tracked while the session of QuizTime is active, and question selection will always restart from the beginning of the game's database.  QuizTime's cookies do nothing but keep track on you computer of the high score and question selection within the database.  Cookies do not save any other information or send any information anywhere else.  If at any time you clear cookies on your browser, then the high score will be set back to zero the next time you open QuizTime.
